2024 European Curling Championships: Scotland women into semis

Scotland’s men and women have both booked their places in the semi-finals of the European Curling Championships.

Rebecca Morrison’s rink squeezed out Norway 5-4 to make it five wins in a row in Finland, finishing the round-robin in third place.

They will meet Sweden in the last four, with Thursday’s match being shown live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app at 17:00 GMT.

Switzerland continue their title defence when they meet Italy in the other semi.

Scotland’s men made sure they topped the standings with eight wins from nine after seeing off Olympic champions Sweden.

Bruce Mouat’s rink led 4-0 after two ends and completed a three in the 10th for an 11-7 success.

Finishing first in the round-robin earns last-stone advantage in Friday morning’s semi against Switzerland.

Norway and Germany are the other men’s teams in the last four.

Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan head into the play-offs aiming to extend an extraordinary sequence in which they have won the past four European Championships they have played in.
