In October 2022, India and Ukraine have decided to work together in implementing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s 10-point peace formula proposed by him during the G7 Summit. The objective of this peace formula is to bring lasting peace to Ukraine and put an end to all wars.
In August last year, Saudi Arabia hosted a summit on the peace plan where around 40 countries participated discussing their contribution in achieving the goals set in it. In May the same year, 46 member states of the Council of Europe expressed their support for the plan during the summit. In June, it was also supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, according to Kyiv.
Kyiv now seeks India’s support for the plan even as a summit on this will once again be organised later this year and this time the host will be Switzerland. The summit ‘Global Peace Summit’ was announced by Swiss President Viola Amherd. The dates for the summit are yet to be finalised.
