Peringathur (Kannur): Malayali brothers from Thalassery have got selected to the national cricket team of Switzerland. Brothers Arjun Vinod and Ashwin Vinod of Nittur, near Thalassery, have been selected to the team which would compete in the qualifiers of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The matches will be held from July 7 to 14 in Germany.

Arjun Vinod (29) is an all rounder and had captained Cossonay CC. Earlier, he had captained the Swiss national teams (U 15, U 17 and U 19). Got his masters in Management and Finance from Loughborough University, UK, Arjun works in management field in Geneva.
Arjun’s brother Ashwin, who had opened the bowling for Swiss national team, is also an all rounder. A post graduate in Economics and Finance, Ashwin serves as a soldier as part of the mandatory military service in Switzerland.
He had represented the national team of Switzerland as the captain of U 13, U 15, U 17 and U 19. Apart from this, he also had played for the national senior team .
They are the children of Vinod Unikkadath of Thalasserry, Nittur who works with WHO, Geneva and Rajasree Vinod, who works with International Labour Organisation, Geneva.
