The Matildas have been given another match in a jam-packed end-of-year schedule.
A game against Switzerland in Zurich will make it six matches in 43 days across three countries for interim coach Tom Sermanni and his players.
A day after the announcement of two matches against Brazil in Queensland, the Matildas on Wednesday confirmed a friendly with the Swiss at Stadion Letzigrund on October 26 (Australian time).
The match will take place three days before the Matildas meet Germany in Duisburg.
After that, the Australians will return home a few weeks later for another four games – two against Brazil (November 28, Brisbane and December 1, Gold Coast) and two against Chinese Taipei (December 4, Melbourne and December 7, Geelong).
“We are delighted to confirm a second European nation to round out our October schedule, providing an important and exciting springboard into the next women’s international cycle,” Football Australia chief executive officer James Johnson.
“Switzerland will be another unique opponent for the program. Their addition to a schedule that already contains world No.4 Germany demonstrates the calibre of opponents we can secure to assist the Matildas in laying the foundations for the next four years.
“We will be finishing the year with an exciting home schedule of matches announced for the November/December FIFA women’s international window.”
