Chargeurs has expanded its portfolio by acquiring Cilander’s fashion and luxury brands including Alumo, Eugster & Huber, Brennet and Swiss Ghutra.
Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technology (CFT PCC) says the acquisition brings new finishing technologies particularly suited for certain textile applications requiring specific functional properties, notably in the military, sports and outdoor sectors, where durability and performance are crucial.
Additionally, CFT PCC believes acquiring Cilander’s assets will enhance its range of value-added products, complete its portfolio of world-renowned brands and reinforce its industrial excellence.
This acquisition also allows Chargeurs to enter fast-growing markets. For example with the Planofil brand, renowned in the nautical world for the performance of its protective fabrics, can diversify its customer portfolio, positioning itself in a brand-new market for Chargeurs.
As part of the deal, CFT PCC will also acquire Cilander’s production facility in Lützelflüh, Bern where the company can make use of finishing processes that create ‘perfect white’ cotton fabrics and plisse finishings said to be the ‘hallmark’ of Cilander’s offering.
Michaël Fribourg, chairman and CEO of Chargeurs, said in a statement: “I am delighted to welcome these new assets and the talents that come with them. They will bring an additional dynamic to our CFT PCC business line and our group, allowing us to increase our market share across the entire textile value chain.
