A highly touted big man in the class of 2025 has set a date for an official visit to Bloomington.
According to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi, Eric Reibe, a 7-foot, 235-pound center, will be on IU’s campus from October 4 to 6.
Reibe plays at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland. He’s considered the No. 38 player in the senior class, according to the 247Composite.
It will be Reibe’s first visit to Indiana. The program’s track record with bigs could be beneficial in his recruitment. When asked by a reporter recently at the Under Armour Elite 24 for the biggest factors in his recruitment, Reibe offered the following:
“The ability to play right away as a freshman (is a factor),” he said. “Having a playing style for big guys who are involved in the offense. And where I can develop and become an NBA player. College programs who are used to sending bigs to the league.”
He’s previously taken official visits to Creighton and Harvard.
He will also take the following visits this fall: Kansas (August 29-31), UConn (September 6-8), Kentucky (September 13-15), North Carolina (September 20-22) and Oregon (October 11-13).
Reibe was born in Germany and lived there until he was eight. He then moved to Switzerland, where he began his basketball career, and returned to Germany at 14. He moved to the United States when he was 16, and his still lives in Switzerland.
As for a timetable for his decision, Reibe hopes to have one before his high school season begins.
“I’m going to try to decide mid-October, end of October, and then sign in November,” Reibe said.
