41′ England 0-0 Switzerland
Switzerland have started games well this tournament. They’ve scored first in three of their four games and had a first-half goal in every match. This today is, relatively speaking, the worst half I’ve seen from them.
There’s been glimpses of their fluid midfield combinations and how well they can play off Embolo, but England are in control of the ball and the tempo — partly because of how well they’re going over the press and getting upfield.
Already three final-third regains from England inside the first 40 minutes.
It’s more than they had against Serbia (one, game one) and as many as versus Slovenia (game three).
