Phil Foden has another opportunity to show everyone just how good a player he is. But much of that may depend on how the plan comes together.
Here is Foden, speaking to BBC Sport pitchside ahead of kick-off:
💬 “For me, it’ll be more central, staying more inside, what I prefer anyway — I like to be in there. So hopefully it’ll suit me a bit better today.
“If the team plays well, I think the attacking forwards play well as well. If we get the formation right and the press right, it’ll give us a lot of confidence and we’ll play a lot better.
“We’ve worked hard on (the formation). In training, it’s been working really well. I’m looking forward to putting the practice to work and hopefully getting rewards from it.”
And if you were wondering about the England motivations ahead of the game — Gareth Southgate’s 100th — then Foden added:
💬 “I feel a little bit we want to win for him, the big occasion that it is. So we definitely want to win for him.”
