Zurich, Switzerland – The U.S. duo of Florida senior gymnast Leanne Wong and Oklahoma’s Fuzzy Benas took ninth in Saturday’s 41st annual Swiss Cup Zürich competition.
There was an elimination system in Saturday’s mixed pairs team competition. The combined scored made up the team total for each round. Each individual on the team chose the event they would compete on for each round.
An early miss on her uneven bars routine resulted in Wong’s mark of 11.10. Benas opened with a floor exercise total of 13.80. The U.S.’s combined total of 24.90 was 0.375 out of advancing to the event’s second round.
France’s team of Morgane Osyssek-Reimer and Léo Saladino won today’s Swiss Cup.

This was Wong’s seventh year competing for Team USA, starting back in 2017 when she was just a freshman in high school. This weekend’s trip to Zurich was Wong’s third trip to Europe to represent the U.S. since October 2023 as she earned gold with Team USA at the 2023 World Championships in Belgium and was in Paris for the 2024 Olympics as a replacement athlete.
Saturday’s competition ends Wong’s 2024 elite season. Fans can expect to see her back in the Orange and Blue for her senior collegiate season. The first glimpses of the Gators’ routines can be seen during their third annual Gators Gymnastics Hype Night on Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
