Hawaii brings color and cheer to Zurich

Hawaii is known for its breathtaking nature with volcanic landscapes, tropical rainforests and beautiful beaches. At the same time, the island chain in the Pacific Ocean has a wealth of culture and history to offer – shaped by Polynesian tradition and influences from the USA and Asia.

The dream destination aims to reemphasize its appeal in the Swiss market. To mark its return, Hawai’i Tourism hosted a vibrant roadshow in Zurich on Thursday evening, showcasing its unique Hawaiian flair and music for the first time in years.

Around 45 travel professionals came to the trendy Chez Smith restaurant in Wiedikon to find out first-hand about the most exciting offers and most important innovations. Sabrina Hasenbein, PR Manager Germany and Switzerland, Account Manager Julia Rohrbacher and Account Director Andreas Schunck were delighted with the positive response.

The island of Oahu, where the capital Honolulu is located, is the tourist heart of Hawaii. Honolulu is home to the famous Waikiki Beach. Sights such as Pearl Harbor and the Diamond Head Crater also attract numerous visitors.  Oahu, renowned for its unique beaches like the North Shore, is widely regarded as the birthplace of surfing.

Kauai, the oldest of the Hawaiian islands, is one of the greenest islands thanks to its lush vegetation. Highlights include the dramatic cliffs of the Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Kauai is a paradise for hikers, nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet, as it is less crowded than other islands.

Maui, the second largest island in Hawaii, is celebrated for its diverse landscapes. Visitors can explore the majestic Haleakalā volcano, drive along the scenic Hana Highway, and relax on golden beaches like Kaanapali. The island offers a range of activities, including surfing, whale watching, and snorkeling, making Maui a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Big Island, the largest of the Hawaiian islands, also has a lot to offer – from black sand beaches to active volcanoes in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The island is a mix of unique natural experiences, with rainforests, lava fields and impressive waterfalls.
