Loaned out to La Liga 2 side’s Eibar last season, Konrad de la Fuente (23) is set to leave Olympique de Marseille on a permanent transfer this summer to join INEOS-owned club Lausanne Sport, competing in Switzerland’s top flight, reveals L’Equipe.
Once a young talent promised a great future, Konrad de la Fuente failed to live up to expectations since his transfer from Barcelona in 2021. The winger has successively been loaned out to Olympiacos and Eibar, failing to prove his worth on both occasions. In three years, de la Fuente has only played 23 games across all competitions with Les Phocéens, logging one goal and two assists. With his contract set to expire next summer, the former USA international is set to leave the South of France for good.
According to a report by L’Equipe, Marseille summer transfer business is not set to stop anytime soon, whether it is in arrivals or departures. Judged as a surplus to requirements by the club’s new manager, Roberto de Zerbi, de la Fuente is now set to look for pastures new. His future is likely to lie in Switzerland as Lausanne Sport, a club wholly owned by INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have found an agreement with Marseille. However, the fee remains unknown, according to the French outlet.
