And so it begins. Two teams enter, one team leaves. There’s no coming back from a knockout round defeat at the EUROs. Who will be left standing today?
- Switzerland vs. Italy (12PM EDT)
This will be the match of the thread, as BFW will run separate Germany coverage. Switzerland gave everything they had to beat Germany and fell one late Niclas Füllkrug header short. This is a tough Swiss side, led by Leverkusen and former Arsenal FC man Granit Xhaka.
Italy is the defending champion but have looked anything but glorious so far…Mattia Zaccagni’s last-second strike to knock out Croatia aside, of course.
- Germany vs. Denmark (3PM EDT)
Stay tuned for our live blog of the Germany match right here at Bavarian Football Works! We’ll also have post-game coverage: in-depth observations, match awards, and a post-game podcast.
TV/streaming: Fox (USA), BBC / ITV (UK), Find Your Country

- Keep the sorting to “newest” to easily follow the conversation. It puts the newest comments at the top.
- Here at BFW we celebrate every goal like they do in the stadium: with a chant. The goal chants are for everyone to participate in! Even if you’re lagging behind the others, keep replying to the most recent call of the player’s name. Even if you missed the first call, just start from the second, and so on.
- While swearing is allowed within reason, please be polite to your fellow posters and avoid gratuitous obscenities. Racist, homophobic, and misogynistic language is not allowed whatsoever.
Check out our beginners thread if you have any more questions. That’s about it. Auf geht’s!
