London-based fashion and accessories brand Luca Faloni has taken its first step into the Swiss market with the opening of a boutique in Zurich. A Paris boutique is also planned for this year.
The company said the Zurich store — which is “strategically positioned in the historic Storchen quarter” is a milestone in its development.
It occupies a two-storey townhouse covering over 200 sq m and its size means it can include a “comprehensive showcasing” of the Luca Faloni Collection.
That includes hero products such as cashmere knitwear, linen shirts and leather travel bags alongside recent editions including linen suits, wool travel blazers and an expanded junior range.
The company’s major focus is on selling online but it said “physical retail expansion into Zurich reinforces Luca Faloni’s successful, omnichannel direct-to-consumer model. While online remains the primary distribution channel, establishing brick and mortar stores in key global locations serves as an important tool for cultivating strong connections with customers within their local communities and on an international front”.
It added that in its physical spaces it’s “committed to offering a personal, elevated shopping experience as demonstrated by the iconic Aperitivo hours and relaxing lounge areas, fostering a ‘home away from home’ ambiance. Embodying the brand’s Italian heritage, every location is meticulously designed in collaboration with architects Turin, Luca’s home city in Northern Italy”.
The label’s eponymous founder said the decision to open in Zurich “will help strengthen our presence in Central Europe”.
Switzerland is already a big market through its e-commerce operation and he expects strong visitor traffic as the “product range resonates with the Swiss appreciation for high quality and perfectly complements the pursuits of local customers and visitors alike, be it alpine adventures or other leisurely activities”.
It’s the band’s ninth boutique globally, with earlier stores having opened in Milan, London, Munich, New York, Miami and Stockholm.
Ten-year-old Luca Faloni has its HQ in London — where its very first store opened in 2018 — but focuses on menswear made in Italy from Italian materials.
