CHARLESTON, S.C. – Former The Citadel basketball player Elijah Morgan has signed a professional contract in the Swiss Basketball League, 1st Division with SAM Massagno, based in Massagno, Switzerland.
He spent the past two seasons with the Bulldogs after transferring in from Notre Dame and appeared in 64 games while making 59 starts for the blue and white.
“Very excited for the next chapter in Elijah’s life and career,” said Head Coach Ed Conroy. “He made a tremendous impact in our program, and it was a joy to coach and assist him in chasing his dreams. His commitment to the player development aspect of our program has helped set the tone for years to come.”
Over two seasons with The Citadel, the New Orleans native averaged 11.0 points per game, including scoring 14.5 ppg in 2023-24. The second leading scorer for The Citadel this past season, Morgan had seven 20+ point performances to go along with 10 games where he made 4+ three-pointers. On the defensive end, he led the team in steals and finished 10th in the conference with 1.5 steals per game.
The guard improved in all three shooting categories from year one to year two with the Bulldogs and finished this past season with a 45.6 field goal percentage, 39.8% clip from beyond the arc to go along with an 88.9% mark from the charity stripe, the latter leading The SoCon.
“I know he will have Bulldog fans following his pro career as he developed many great relationships on campus and in Charleston,” continued Coach Conroy. “Who will ever forget his performance at Notre Dame, leading The Citadel to a 65-45 victory with a game-high 19 points and five 3-pointers.”
Morgan graduated from The Citadel with an MBA and holds the program record for steals in a game with nine (vs VMI 2/17/24) while ranking eighth in 3-pointers made in a season with 84.
