The new manager of the Ireland men’s team will have two home games to bed in with the job in 2024 after the FAI today confirmed friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland.
The Belgians will play in Lansdowne Road on Saturday March 23rd, with a 5pm kick-off, while Switzerland then come to Dublin on Tuesday March 26th.
It’s a second visit in two years for Belgium, who played out a 2-2 draw with Stephen Kenny’s side in March 2022. The Swiss have been frequent visitors to Dublin, most recently for a 1-1 draw in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
The FAI are in the process of recruiting a replacement for Kenny, though reports linking Anthony Barry with the job were played down by Barry’s employers Bayern Munich, as former international Lee Carsley remains the favourite.
