The Football Association has charged Reading head of football operations Mark Bowen over alleged breaches of betting rules.
The FA says Bowen, 60, placed 95 bets on football matches unrelated to games involving Reading.
The alleged offences took place between April 19, 2022 and January 14, 2024.
Bowen, who was appointed head of football operations in 2022 having previously held the position of sporting director, has been given until June 7 to respond to the charges.
Under FA regulations all players, coaches and officials connected with clubs in the top eight tiers of English football are prohibited from gambling on matches played worldwide.
In October last year, Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali was given a 10 month-ban by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for breaching betting rules.
The Italian was handed a further suspended two-month ban in May after admitting to breaches of the FA’s rules on gambling.
West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta was charged with misconduct by the FA on May 23 in relation to alleged betting breaches. He denies the charges.
