Scotland vs Switzerland: Clarke’s men look to reignite Euro 2024 dream

Guten tag, nochmal!

Hello – or should that be Hallo? – and welcome back to Sunsport’s live coverage of Scotland’s Euro 2024 adventure.

And hopefully that’s the ONLY repeat of last Friday we’ll have today – the introduction.

Thanks for joining us again after a BRUTAL night last time out.

It really was a mauling in Munich – ‘murder’ according to Ally McCoist – and after the expectation and anticipation around the opener, a nation now simply expects.

Anything less than a draw and it’s pretty much done.

It can’t get any worse than it was and now is the time to right a few wrongs.

The result dampened spirits a little but the rain certainly hasn’t in western Germany – and the Tartan Army have had a ball in Cologne so far.

Scotland are aiming to avoid their own washout and with an expanded fanzone opening in the city – they’ll be roared on by at least 10,000 in the ground and a great many more outside in the streets.

The world is watching – and we are too.

We’ll bring you the best of the action from inside the ground and beyond with our German-based Scottish Sun team on the ground once again.

Fuelled by coffe and some fine German confectionary, Chief football writer Robert Grieve and voice of Sunsport Bill Leckie have been providing some terrific analysis and opinion every day from the Scotland camp.

Football editor Derek McGregor has swiutched focus from making friends with the Germans to track the Swiss and he’s had some terrific insight as the only Scottish reporter mixing in opposition ranks.

Andy Barr, Graham Mann and Paul Rodger have also bee on patrol with the Tartan Army – and there’s a match planned from the city to the Stadium this evening.

Scotland are the home team and, in a ground which regularly belts out an anthem to the tune of ‘Loch Lomond’ here’s hoping it’s a home win… or we could be heading home.

COME ON SCOTLAND!
