Spain vs Switzerland prediction
It’s 1st vs 4th in the Nations League Group D tonight as Spain look for five straight wins.
Switzerland on the other hand are winless in this competition picking up just two points from two draws.
Spain won the reverse fixture with ease 4-1 despite going down to ten men after 20 minutes.
They were already 2-0 up by that point thanks to a goal from Joselu and Fabian Ruiz each.
They didn’t score again until the 77th and then they quickly got their fourth goal and clear decider in the 80th thanks to Ferran Torres.
Much of the game was spent defending a 2-1 lead and as a result they had what looked to be a swap in possession stats with just 33% of the ball.
Switzerland had 20 shots in total but only three found the target as they did look in command, but couldn’t find the equaliser.
Then when they were prone on the counter they conceded two quick goals.
Since then they’ve both lost and drawn to Serbia and drawn 2-2 with Denmark. They don’t look easy to back here and the money will all be on Spain tonight in various ways.
Spain vs Switzerland betting tip
This is the same squad that beat Italy 2-0 in the Round of 16 in the Euros and then held England to a 1-1 draw before losing on penalties.
They don’t lack the talent but it’s just not being going their way in this competition and Spain have been dominant in all games, or if they haven’t have seen it out professionally.
This all comes after they beat England 2-1 in the European Championship finals in July and are on a long unbeaten streak, last losing to Colombia in a friendly back in March.
It’s a smart bet to go for Spain to win among a bet builder.
Their starting lineup is often changed and as a result they don’t have a player in the top 20 for most goals in the Nations League, with goals coming from all over the pitch.
They’re averaging two goals per match and despite that drop in possession against the Swiss last time still dominate the ball on average.
Cards are more prominent than most with 12 cards given out over five games, while Switzerland have picked up as many as 15 for an average of three per match.
