Swiss International Air Lines appoints Julia Wetter-Studinka as Regional Sales Head in Switzerland, driving Lufthansa Group’s sales efforts.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced the appointment of Julia Wetter-Studinka as the new Regional Sales Head for Switzerland. In her new role, Wetter-Studinka will lead and enhance the sales operations for all passenger airlines under the Lufthansa Group in Switzerland, taking into account the competitive landscape and market dynamics. She will directly report to Johannes Walter, Vice President of Area Management for Home Markets at Lufthansa Group, and Heike Birlenbach, SWISS’s Chief Commercial Officer. She takes over from Marco Willa, who recently transitioned to his new role as Head of Onboard Experience for the Lufthansa Group.
Julia Wetter-Studinka initially joined the Lufthansa Group in 2018, starting as a project manager handling distribution and commercial negotiations with Global Distribution Systems (GDS). She subsequently held positions in commercial and product management, became the Head of Business Development at the Lufthansa Group’s Digital Hangar, and contributed to the formation of the Group’s digital branch. After a stint in New York working on a strategic corporate sales project for the Lufthansa Group, she has been managing SWISS’s Corporate & TMC Key Account Management since April, overseeing the airline’s business relationships with corporate clients and travel management companies in Switzerland.
Wetter-Studinka is a graduate of the University of St. Gallen, where she earned a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Governance. Originally from Zurich, she is married and holds dual citizenship in Switzerland and Germany.
