Swiss reduces some overseas connections

Swiss has announced changes to its 2025 summer flight schedule. According to the industry portal ‘Airliners’, the Swiss will reduce frequencies on several intercontinental routes and is changing aircraft.

Between 24 May and 9 June 2025, the frequency of flights from Zurich to Boston will be reduced from 14 to 12 flights per week. The Zurich–Delhi route will also be reduced between 22 May and 11 June 2025, with only six weekly flights offered. Shanghai is also affected: from 25 May to 7 June 2025, Swiss will only fly to the Chinese metropolis six times a week instead of the usual daily service.

The popular destinations of Dubai and Johannesburg are also facing cutbacks: the connection from Zurich to Dubai will be reduced to six flights per week from 23 May to 12 June 2025. Johannesburg will also only be served six times a week between 27 May and 9 June 2025.

A special feature awaits passengers on the Zurich-Miami route. It was originally planned to operate this connection with a Boeing 777-300ER between 22 May and 7 June 2025. Now, Swiss is using a combination of Airbus A330-300 and A340-300 aircraft. Despite the aircraft changeover, there will still be one daily flight to the US metropolis.
