In what could be a major blow to both club and country, news from the Spain camp has emerged that Dani Olmo is set to miss his nation’s tie against Switzerland.
As Spain released their squad list for the upcoming Nation’s League tie, the 26-year-old was notable only by his absence in Luis de la Fuente’s plans.
As per ElDesmarque, the omission of Olmo could be simply as a precaution, as a result of the heavy knock he received during Spain’s tie on Thursday night against Serbia.
With two goals in two appearances, as Barcelona have gotten their season off to a great start, everyone will be keeping watch to see what the extent of Olmo’s injury could be.
Another notable omission is Mikel Oyarzabal, who suffered an ankle injury when in action against Serbia on Thursday, with the forward looking to be in considerable pain as he left the pitch.
On a positive note, Rodri returns to contention following his suspension after Spain’s Euro 2024 celebrations. The Manchester City midfielder hasn’t played any football following the final which took place in Berlin in July.
Many Spanish clubs will be keeping their fingers crossed that their players will make it out of the other side of this international break injury-free.
