West Ham United is delighted to confirm the signing of Switzerland international Seraina Piubel from FC Zürich Frauen.
An exciting attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, Piubel has penned a three-year-contract with the Hammers, becoming Rehanne Skinner’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
Piubel has played at FC Zürich Frauen since the age of 13, having previously played for FC Fislisbach in her early years. Since making her senior debut in 2017, Piubel has racked up over 65 first-team appearances for FCZ Frauen, including five in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. She also helped the Swiss side to four Women’s Super League titles and three Swiss Women’s Cup triumphs during that time.
The midfielder won the Swiss Women’s Super League Player award for her performances in 2023, having previously been nominated in both 2022 and 2021.
For Switzerland, Piubel has been capped 20 times, including at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup where she scored in a 2-0 group-stage victory over the Philippines.
