Leading form analyst Jules Vallance believes Storm Boy could be a generational horse should he win the Golden Slipper on Saturday.
The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained colt has conquered all before him in his four career starts with all of his wins being by 2.28 lengths or further.
He’s your typical Waterhouse and Bott runner that leads and break the hearts of his rivals with his brutal cruising speed and will to win a trait every race horse would love to have.
This weekend’s Slipper looks to be his for the taking, especially after drawing gate two for champion jockey Ryan Moore at Tuesday’s barrier draw at Rosehill Gardens.
Vallance can’t wait to see the son of Justify back at the races on Saturday and believes the discrepancy in the market highlights how dominant a favourite Storm Boy is.
“I’ve heard there’s been some commentary around the market and that Switzerland and Storm Boy are quite similar, they’re actually not,” Vallance told SENTrack’s Giddy Up.
“Storm Boy is $2.30 which makes him a 43.5 per cent of a chance of winning and $4.50 for Switzerland makes him a 22 per cent chance of winning.
“20 per cent difference is the probability of these horses winning the race and I don’t think they’re going to be too much closer in the betting.
“Storm Boy is scary, scary good and that’s not knocking Switzerland as a horse as I think any other year Switzerland would be favourite for a Golden Slipper, but Storm Boy could be a generational horse.”
Both Storm Boy and Switzerland hold full control of the Slipper market with the next fancied runner being Lady Of Camelot at $10 with Sportsbet.
