The Zurich city police raided an illegal gambling establishment on Langstrasse on Wednesday. Prior to this, anonymous tips had been received about gambling.
The police questioned two people who were present in the premises, as reported by the Federal Gaming Board (FGB) on Thursday. The SFGB had received the tip-off and ordered the search of the premises on Brauerstrasse.
On site, the police confiscated five computers, two video surveillance monitors and 100 francs, among other things. The SFGB states that the installation of slot machines with casino games is only permitted in licensed casinos.
The SFGB is investigating the matter. The law provides for fines or prison sentences of up to five years for the operation of illegal gambling.
